Job Purpose

To provide support to credit control and recoveries through profitable disposal of assets in public auctions on behalf of Nedbank focusing on minimizing losses and timeously reducing impairments.

Job Responsibilities

  • Contribute to Business Units by disposing assets financed by Nedbank (MFC/VAF).
  • Actively participate in the auction process by attending auction and making sales decisions.
  • Ensure internal and external stakeholders perform within agreed turnaround time and Service Level Agreements by monitoring the process.
  • Minimise potential loss to the bank by auctioning the assets for the best possible price.
  • Ensure auction details are up to date by capturing the sales information on the system.
  • Provide feedback to stakeholders by compiling comprehensive and quality auction reports.
  • Keep the stakeholders informed by site visit or sending emails and telephone.
  • Contribute to intellectual capital of the team by sharing knowledge and ideas.
  • Build and maintain effective working relationships by attending regular staff meeting and team building sessions.
  • Build strong relationships with all stakeholders and provide support through effective networking.
  • Prepare for auction by gathering and capturing required information on the Management Information System (MIS).
  • Resolve queries in regards to assets of the bank (mechanical defaults/ running status) by giving mechanical advice.
  • Remove bank / title holder of the asset once the asset is sold by implementing change of ownership (Notification Change of Ownership process)
  • Minimise financial losses and reputational risk for the bank by operating within the given standards/ measurements/ targets.
  • Ensure Compliance by following prescribed regulations, policies, processes and procedures.
  • Address operational risk and compliance issues with regards to inventory management by performing regular stock & due diligence audits.
  • Review and give input in order to enhance policies and procedures.
  • Keep abreast of legislation and other industry changes that impacts on role by reading the relevant newsletters, websites and attending sessions.
  • Understand and embrace the Nedbank vision and demonstrate the values through interaction with team and stakeholders.
  • Improve personal capability and stay abreast of developments in field of expertise by identifying training courses and career progression for self through input and feedback from managers
  • Ensure personal growth and enable effectiveness in performance of roles and responsibilities by ensuring all learning activities are completed, experience practiced and certifications obtained and/or maintained within specified time frames.
  • Ensure information is provided correctly to stakeholders by maintaining and sharing knowledge with team.
  • Apply knowledge gained through keeping up with market trends and vehicle values.
  • Gain Knowledge through experiences, market research and market related publications.
  • Contribute to a culture conducive to the achievement of transformation goals by participating in Nedbank Culture building initiatives (e.g. staff surveys etc).
  • Participate and support corporate social responsibility initiatives for the achievement of key business strategies.
  • Identify and recommend opportunities to enhance processes, systems and policies and support implementation of new processes, policies and systems.

Essential Qualifications - NQF Level

  • Matric / Grade 12 / National Senior Certificate

Preferred Qualification

Tertiary studies in Asset Managment or Finance.

Minimum Experience Level

10 years experience within collections and recoveries of which 8 years in the financial sector
