SUMMARY: Our client, a leading brewing company that develops, markets, and sells a diverse portfolio of alcoholic beverage - including beer, cider, and soft drinks - is seeking a talented and driven DATA ANALYST/BI SPECIALIST to join their team and play a key role in transforming raw data into actionable business intelligence.

Job Title: Data Analyst / BI Specialist (Power BI, SQL)
Employment Type: 6/12-month contract to start (Renewable)
Work Location: Hybrid - can be based in Sandton or Stellenbosch
JOB PROFILE SUMMARY:

As a Data Analyst / BI Specialist, you will be responsible for extracting, analysing, and interpreting large datasets to provide valuable insights that drive business growth and optimization. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into comprehensive data solutions using Power BI and SQL. KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Develop and maintain Power BI dashboards and reports to visualize and communicate key metrics and trends.
• Perform data analysis to identify patterns, trends, and correlations that inform strategic decision-making.
• Design and implement SQL queries and stored procedures to extract and manipulate data from various sources.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to gather and define business requirements for BI solutions.
• Optimize data models and processes to improve data accuracy, efficiency, and accessibility.
• Conduct ad-hoc analysis and provide actionable insights to support business initiatives.
• Stay updated on industry best practices and emerging technologies in data analytics and BI.

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or related field.
• Proven experience as a Data Analyst or BI Specialist, with expertise in Power BI and SQL.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to interpret complex datasets.
• Proficiency in writing SQL queries and optimizing database performance.
• Experience in data visualization and dashboard development using Power BI or similar BI tools.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
• Proactive problem-solving mindset and ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
• Knowledge of additional data analysis and visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Python) is a plus.

• Will be agreed based on qualifications, applicable experience, and previous earnings.
