Job Purpose

The Digital Marketing Manager leads the design of insight driven digital strategies from opportunity identification through to experience definition. The role supports the formulation of digital marketing strategy and implementation (delivery) thereof to ensure the effectiveness of the results aligned to business requirements. The role aims to grow business & customer base, while influencing targeted consumers or businesses to choose Nedbank's products and services in order to achieve specific measurable business and marketing objectives. The role leads the creation of compelling digital marketing campaigns that are creative, targeted, measurable and produce quantifiable results.

Job Responsibilities

Delivery and Quality (controls)

  • Support agency or internal production team to deliver digital marketing campaigns on target within due date, budget and according to scope and requirements, while ensuring quality and alignment to stakeholder expectations. 
  • Collaborate to ensure the quality of the creative brief and briefing process
  • Write clear, compelling creative briefs and deliver inspiring briefings
  • Work hand-in-hand with creative teams to develop work that is on-strategy
  • Obtain formal sign off on all campaign deliverables; this includes coordinating feedback from all stakeholders. 
  • Creative evaluation skills with the ability to judge creativity in the context of briefs; effective business solutions; & marketplace impact and dynamics

 
Implement Strategy

  • Create, develop and manage effective digital marketing and social media strategies in support of and in response to business overall objectives while ensuring effectiveness of results: with an understanding of digital marketing tactics, including SEO, PPC, native advertising, email marketing and online reputation management, crossing into areas as integrated campaigns work
  • Develop a strong digital marketing strategic direction and recommendations that provides creative opportunities, while answering Nedbank business goals/objectives
  • Understand Divisional/ Business Unit Objectives to ensure relevant implementation and alignment of digital marketing campaign plans
  • Evaluate and implement improvements on digital strategy
  • Optimizing campaigns, analyzing results, and providing insights and recommendations for clients
  • Lead and drive thought leadership to uncover opportunities and lead thinking to capture both audiences needs/insights and Nedbank stakeholder business goals
  • Understand key consumer behaviours, client business, culture, digital technology, and emerging trends

 
Stakeholder management

  • Build and maintain collaborative relationships with identified key stakeholders to deliver on business results
  • Ensure that strategy recommendations (ideation, strategic direction, etc) are in alignment with the client's goals and brand positions.
  • Collaborate with Agency partner strategy and creative teams to ensure that digital strategies are properly integrated within the larger marketing programs
  • Liaise and direct agency account team in defining information requirements/needs
  • Work closely with multiple data, partners and analytics functions and teams 

 
Improved Process

  • Support the achievement of the business strategy; objectives and values by reviewing Nedbank and Business Unit Plan and ensuring delivered systems; process; services and solutions are aligned.
  • Share knowledge and industry trends with team and stakeholders 
  • Seek opportunities for and obtain buy-in for developing working process enhancements and/or efficiencies that will improve impact and effectiveness

Education

Qualifiation: Advanced Diploma/National 1st Degrees
Field of Study: Marketing Communication and Media
Certification: Digital marketing related certification (beneficial)
