Homeware Product Designer

Job Description

A leading lifestyle brand is hiring Product Designers to join their creative team. This is a full-time, in-office opportunity that will suit trendy designers with a strong creative side. Use your drawing and rendering skills to transform 2D designs into 3D products. Manage the full process of design development to sourcing of finished items. Responsibilities:

Design and development, including sampling

• Translating 2D designs into 3D products

• Prioritise the development of new or redeveloped products based on range reviews

• Create technical drawings in both 2D and 3D, as well as renderings and illustrations

• Create physical prototypes of new items

Product project management

• Brief packaging, labelling, swing tags, instruction cards, care cards, stickers, etc.

• Provide graphics with samples to photograph

• Create all product specifications and spec sheets

• Supplying all product data, selling points, product attributes to copywriter

• Product shipment quality checking

Bespoke items project management

• Product design

• Presentation design

• Getting supplier quotes

• Real time costings

Requirements

• 3 to 5 years' experience in a similar role

• Degree or tertiary qualification in Industrial Design (must have)

• Ability to conceptualise design and illustrate

• Excellent eye for colour, form and detail

• Good knowledge of the industry and market and design trends

• Knowledge of a variety of materials and graphic application techniques

Design software skills: 

• Illustrator and Photoshop

• Rhino 3D and Procreate (advantage)

Beneficial requirements:
