Job Description - Operations Assistant to the CEO


SUMMARY:

POSITION INFO:

Summary purpose/expectations:

The purpose of this role is to assist the CEO and work closely with other executives and managers to ensure operational alignment and accountability. We are seeking a highly organized and proactive individual to join our team. The candidate will work closely with the CEO to ensure the smooth operational of day-to-day activities and contribute to the overall efficiency and success of the organisation.

Key deliverables:

  • Act as the primary point of contact between the CEO with internal & external stakeholders.
  • Prepare reports, presentations, and related requirements for internal and external meetings.
  • Assist with research and gather information as needed to support decision-making processes.
  • Assist in the planning and execution of special projects and initiatives.
  • Work closely across all Division within the Group.
  • Provide regular feedback on the performance of all Divisions.
  • Follow-up and provide feedback to the CEO pertaining accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement within all Divisions.
  • Monitor and report on day-to-day operations to ensure efficiency, effectiveness, and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Create and analyse market data, growth opportunities, and strategies to capitalize effective and efficient outputs.
  • Communicate cross-functional activities and projects to drive the CEO operational strategies in order to improve business performance.
  • Represent the M Group to external stakeholders, including customers, investors, partners, and regulators.
  • Serve as representative within the M Group towards external stakeholders.
  • Analyse continues improvement, emerging technologies, processes, and new business models.
  • Assist the CEO in monitoring and follow-ups on operational plans requirements to fulfil the strategic intend.

Requirements:

Minimum Academic & Experience required for this position:

  • Bachelors degree in business management, or a related field or Honours or equivalent preferred.
  • Previous experience in within similar role and experience within the Granite mining industry will be an advantage.
  • Formidable leadership, interpersonal skills, the ability to inspire and motivate teams.
  • Outstanding analytical and problem-solving skills and data-driven approach to effective & efficient decision-making.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate complex ideas clearly and concisely.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Advance MS Office skills (Exceptional Excel skills is mandatory).
  • Ability to interpret financial, strategic, and operational reports.

General:

  • Applicant should be in Sandton.
  • SA Citizen Valid SA code 08 driver licence and own transport.
  • Willing to travel national and international.
  • Knowledgeable in the granite mining industry will be an advantage.
  • Be able to work in a rapid and pressurised environment.

High level of accuracy and attention to detail, with the ability to demonstrate professional judgment. Ability to influence, servant leadership, collaboration, and flexibility. Strong communication skills and ability to influence cross functionally by tailoring messaging for various audiences and stakeholders. Ability to interact with a wide variety of stakeholders at all levels / functions of the organization across diverse cultures.
