Job Description - Marketing Operations Specialist

If so, then we are looking for you! The Role The marketing operations role will support and execute the marketing strategy. This is a hands-on position, and the successful candidate will be skilled in all aspects of marketing. You will be planning and running digital acquisition campaigns, setting up automated workflows, updating website content, and taking on the management of social media platforms. You will manage consumer communication throughout the client journey in partnership with the sales and operations team. In addition, you will manage supplier and marketing affiliate relationships, conceptualize effective, regular promotions and dabble a bit with creating and sizing images to support all your great work. The role will also help with tracking budgets, review critical metrics, managing payments and be a proficient report writer. You will have the opportunity to learn from highly experienced subject matter experts that are currently assisting the business, so this is also an opportunity for you to learn and grow as a marketing specialist. Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Be responsible for the day-to-day marketing activities
  • Manage social media platforms which will include conceptualizing and setting up lead generation campaigns (LinkedIn and Facebook)
  • Manage the customers journey and optimize all touchpoints
  • Set up automated workflows to warm up and convert leads into customers using a CRM system (Aluxium)
  • Initiate and execute on email campaigns
  • Use tools like Google Analytics to report on success
  • Source and manage supplier relationships
  • Support external affiliates and build lasting relationships
  • Set up weekly/monthly promotional calendars and execute on all aspects of the promotions
  • Write customer communications that resonates with the audience
  • Use generated content to position the brand and generate traffic to the website resulting in leads.
  • Upload new content to the website, and optimize for SEO
  • Manage website properties and continually review their performance with respect to lead generation
  • Source and create collateral to support all campaigns using e.g. Canva
  • Create and set up pre-approved templates within the mailing client
  • Ensure campaigns adhere to legislation e.g. POPI
  • Tracking of marketing budget and manage supplier payments according to Finance department processes
  • Be responsible for overall ROI on campaigns
  • Report on marketing activities as well as marketing KPIs and metrics
What will make you successful?
  • Deep understanding and a minimum of 3 years’ experience using CRM systems
  • A high level of proficiency with bulk communication tools (particularly email and SMS).
  • Excellent understanding of marketing automation tools, especially the setup of trigger-based workflows in tools such as Hubspot / Customer.io / Drip.com / Salesforce or similar
  • Proven experience and knowledge of lead generation campaigns across various digital platforms.
  • Proficient in Google Analytics and campaign testing methodologies
  • Working knowledge of WordPress
  • Previous experience of managing affiliates and understanding the economic model of affiliate marketing is a huge advantage
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Basic HTML knowledge
  • Experience using Canva or similar software tool
  • Experience working with large volumes of data
  • Proficiency in G-Suite (or MS Office)
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to work effectively and accurately with tight deadlines
  • Self-starter that can work independently and that can take initiative
  • Analytical mindset with a creative twist
  • Experience in the financial services industry would be an advantage

Educational Requirements:
  • Relevant Diploma or degree in Marketing or Communications (would be advantageous)
  • At least 3 - 5 years’ experience in a similar role
  • Experience using a CRM system (non-negotiable)
  • Excellent computer literacy is essential in G-Suite or MS Office (Excel Advanced User)
