Global exhibition organiser is looking for an experienced delegate sales executive to join their cape town team for 7 month's contract

dmg events is looking for a highly motivated and driven individual to join our team as a Sales Executive and help to sell delegate packages and awards tables to private and public sector prospects for a transport event taking place in Durban, South Africa in September 2023.

This role will involve engaging with clients over the telephone or video call, and occasionally in face-to-face client meetings. The successful applicant will be required to work closely with the senior sales team on lead qualification, research and lead generation, as well as with the conference producer, marketing and sales team to understand the value of the programme/content offering and ensure that the pitch includes this value and any concerns from the market are reported internally.

They will be expected to build relationships and contacts with existing and new prospects, which will include researching new leads and working from an existing customer base, as well as attending internal sales pipeline and product meetings. The ideal candidate must demonstrate strong interpersonal skills, an ability to work well with others, and have the capacity to think strategically and evaluate complex situations. They should be able to effectively communicate with customers at all levels and have a keen eye for detail.

They must also have the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, have strong planning and organisational skills, and be comfortable working under pressure. This individual should be a team player and be able to articulate the value proposition of the content and networking opportunities at our events.

We are offering a generous compensation package that includes a basic salary, commission from rand one and incentives.

REQUIREMENTS

• SA residence/visa and ability to work. We will not be able to relocate anyone.
• Minimum of three years’ sales experience preferably in a similar role or in a media environment. (Cold calling and account management)
• Excellent spoken and written English.
• Proven experience is negotiating and constructing group deals and proposals.
• Experience working with a CRM system (Salesforce preferably).
