Glory Restoration Assembly church is looking for a creative, experienced and passionate social media manager to join our media team. Someone with an eye for aesthetics and detail, who eats, sleeps and breathes all things social media. As a social media manager, you will be responsible for developing and implementing social media content plans and running paid media advertising campaigns to advertise the church and its activities.
Applicant must reside in Cape Town and be available to work during church service hours as follows:
Sunday: 9am - 11am and 6pm - 8pm
Wednesday: 6pm - 8pm
Normal working hours: Mon-Thurs: 8am - 4pm
Responsibilities:
- Create social media content plans and calendars across different social media platforms, including but not limited to: Facebook, Instagram, TikTok and Twitter.
- Copywriting for all social media posts.
- Stay up to date with the latest social media best practices and technologies - use social media marketing tools.
- Create, manage and optimize social media paid advertising campaigns.
- Set campaign metrics and targets in order to measure results and grow objectives.
- Communicate campaign schedules and targets with the media team.
- Performance tracking and reporting by measuring the success of every paid and organic social media campaign.
- Carry out admin ad-hoc tasks required by the church.
Requirements:
- Matric (media, marketing, communications or relevant qualification advantageous).
- Minimum 3-5 years experience as a social media manager or a similar role.
- Proven ability to build social media communities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills (copywriting experience beneficial).
- Excellent knowledge of various social media platforms.
- Paid social media advertising experience is essential.
- Canva proficient (unless you have Adobe Suite skills).
- Critical thinker and problem-solving skills.
- Great leadership skills.
- Good time-management skills.
- A creative flair is required to make exciting and engaging content for followers.
- Willingness to respond to comments and questions after hours.
- Familiarity with photography/videography editing tools would be advantageous.
