A vacancy has arisen for a Legal Support Administrator in Cape Town

To provide contract administrative support to the SSA Legal function. To ensure that a professional and quality  administrative service is rendered to our customers and colleagues at all times. To ensure the efficient and effective  management of the legal function’s administrative systems and operations.

Key Outputs and Accountability

Contract management  

•  Provide legal administrative support by assisting with receiving, reviewing, updating, interpreting and  negotiating customer/supplier contracts and conducting related administrative tasks. 
• Assist in ensuring that contracts have been concluded in accordance with group policies, using the correct  terms and conditions. 
• Tracking the contract enquiry process from creation to post-approval and follow up on outstanding signed  contracts. 
• Promptly escalate any non-compliant contracts and issues to the Senior Legal Counsel.  
• Maintain and manage a contract database.  
• Ensure that key contract dates are flagged to relevant parties in a timely manner. 
• Highlight and escalate any contract review process gaps and suggests solutions. 
• Collaborate with our in-house Legal team to suggest improvements to templates, processes, operating  procedures, and reporting. 
• Provide contract metrics, insights and reports to internal stakeholders e.g. legal, business leads, internal  audit, as required. 
• Support the department with any ad hoc projects.

• Managing correspondence and communication with internal staff and customers.

• Develop good relationships with all business and external stakeholders such as Key Account Directors and  Key Account managers

SKILLS (Essential)

• General understanding of commercial terms and conditions and experience in contract management. Strong background in commercial administration/document control role 
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact professionally with clients and  colleagues.  
• Ability to work with a high degree of accuracy 
•  Proficiency in legal terminology 
• Excellent written skills including Word/Excel  
• Very organised and structure
• Handling legal documents  
• Credible stakeholder management ability 
• Proactive, responsive and action orientated  
• Team player with a positive attitude and willingness to collaborate with others

Qualifications and Experience

• Matric 
• LLB Degree or Law Qualification. 
• Admitted Attorney will be advantageous
• 2 years of proven experience in similar role  
• Drivers Licence 
• Computer literate – MS Office
