Job Description - 1853 - Sales Consultant

This position is exclusively available to individuals residing in Rustenburg.

We are a leading provider of vehicle tracking, fleet management, SaaS, Big Data, and telematics solutions that leverage cutting-edge data and software to deliver measurable ROI for businesses. With a presence in multiple international markets, we specialize in customized tracking solutions for enterprise fleets, corporate customers, and small businesses. Our solutions help businesses maximize efficiency, reduce operational costs, and enhance security. We are looking for a dynamic and highly motivated New Business Sales Consultant to drive our growth by acquiring new customers through a face-to-face sales model within the Durban South Africa region.

The New Business Sales Consultant will be responsible for hunting and acquiring new B2B customers, focusing on solution-based sales involving our vehicle tracking, telematics, and SaaS products. This role will involve managing the entire sales cycle, from prospecting and lead generation through to onboarding customers for the first six months of their journey with us. The ideal candidate will have experience in technology, software, or SaaS sales, with a proven track record of building client relationships, negotiating contracts, and consistently closing high-value deals.


  • Lead Generation & Prospecting:


    • Identify and target new B2B customers through cold calling, networking, referrals, and inbound leads.

    • Use tools to manage and track sales activities, from prospecting to pipeline management.
    • Set up and attend face-to-face meetings with potential clients to understand their needs and present tailored solutions.

  • Solution Selling & Presentations:


    • Present the company's vehicle tracking, telematics, and SaaS solutions, focusing on how they deliver ROI and operational efficiency for fleet owners.

    • Conduct product demonstrations and customized sales presentations to decision-makers at all levels, from SMEs to large enterprises.



  • Pricing Model Calculations:


    • Develop and present pricing proposals based on the customer's unique needs and vehicle fleet size.

    • Calculate ROI
      for potential customers and communicate the long-term value of the company's solutions.

    • Tailor pricing models for complex sales cycles, ensuring customer satisfaction and profitability.



  • Contract Negotiation & Closing:


    • Negotiate contracts with customers, including pricing, service level agreements (SLAs), and contract lengths.

    • Close deals by overcoming customer objections and handling complex negotiations.

    • Ensure all contracts align with company policies and legal requirements.


  • Customer Onboarding & Handover:


    • Oversee the onboarding process for new customers, ensuring they receive proper implementation and support during their first six months.

    • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure customers' needs are met, facilitating a smooth transition to the Account Management Team during and after the onboarding period.



  • Vetting & Compliance:


    • Vet potential customers to ensure they align with company criteria, working with internal departments to assess risks, financial health, and compliance requirements.

    • Ensure customers meet any regulatory or industry-specific standards before signing agreements.



  • 3+ years of experience in B2B sales within the technology, software, Data or SaaS industry.

  • Proven track record of acquiring new business through cold calling, lead generation, and face-to-face selling.

  • Experience selling solution-based products or services, particularly within software, telematics, fleet management, or data-driven technology.

  • Demonstrable experience in pricing models, contract negotiation, and closing deals with SMB, enterprise or large business clients.
  • Experience managing complex sales cycles from initial contact through to contract completion and customer onboarding.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Sales, Marketing, or a related field (preferred but not required).
  • Proven experience in hunting for new business and consistently closing deals in line with the allocated sales target in a face-to-face sales environment.
  • Experience with data-driven solutions, telematics, SaaS ,or fleet management
    is highly desirable.

  • Strong hunting mentality with a passion for prospecting, generating new leads and closing deals.

  • Excellent ability to communicate value propositions and present tailored solutions
    to a range of business stakeholders.

  • Proficient in CRM systems to track, manage, and follow up on sales activities.

  • Strong understanding of pricing structures and the ability to calculate ROI for customers.

  • Contract negotiation skills, with a focus on long-term, multi-year agreements.
  • Ability to collaborate with internal teams to ensure smooth customer onboarding and transition to Account Management.
  • Results-driven and highly motivated by sales targets and commissions.
  • Ability to work independently and manage your own sales pipeline.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a consultative approach to solution selling.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities to identify customer pain points and offer tailored solutions.
