33002098 - Maintenance Attendant

Job Purpose:

To perform activities associated with testing, safety and maintenance inspections.

Key Responsibility Areas:

• Testing of poles using hammer and pole tester in accordance with the code of practice
Operates handheld machines and tools.
• Undertakes general duties such as; excavation, grass cutting, cleaning floors and toilets.
• Undertakes maintenance functions such as; tightening gland bolts, replacing lamps, cutting of trees etc.
• Keeping all specialised tools and materials required to for tasks at hand.
• Ensure that the vehicle and truck stock are in a neat and tidy condition.

Essential Requirements:

• Grade 10 or National Certificate N3.
• 3 Months relevant experience.
• Preferred Requirements:
• 6 Months relevant experience.

Special Conditions:

• Hours of Work:40 Hour-5 Day week.
• Special Allowance: Dirt allowance where applicable.
• protective Clothing: As per PPE schedule.
• Overtime category: - 11.
• Standby allowance where applicable.

Physical Requirements:

• Must be physically capable of carrying out the duties of the post.
