Grade:15

• Manage and control the Departmental Accounting General Branch, under the directive of the Corporate Executive Departmental Accounting.

 • Manage and control the preparation of the annual and multi-year budgets and annual financial statements. 

• Ensure expenditure remains within budget and provide a financial advisory service to the relevant technical Directorate and subordinate staff.

 • Examines all reports for various committees as prepared by Departments including co-ordinating and monitoring of all tariff reports

 • Manages and controls staff.

 • Co-ordinate and control the preparation of ad hoc financial and management accounting reports

 • Attend to internal and external auditors reports and queries and undertake administrative duties.

 • Develop policies, assist in strategic planning of the branch and implement effective accounts payable procedures.

Essential Requirements:

•Tertiary qualification (NQF Level 7) in Accounting or equivalent with Financial Accounting as a major subject. 

• Must be in possession of National Treasury MFMA minimum competency qualification (NQF6) OR Must obtain a National Treasury MFMA minimum competency qualification (NQF6) within 18 months of date of appointment.

 •Valid motor vehicle driving license.
•5 years relevant experience of which 3 years must be at a supervisory level.
•Computer Literacy.

Preferred Requirements:

•Tertiary qualification (NQF Level 8) in Accounting or equivalent with Financial Accounting as a major subject.

 •Must have professional registration of either CA (SA) CIMA ACCA CIGFARO.

•6 years relevant experience of which 4 years must be at a supervisory level.

Essential Experience 

• 5 years relevant experience of which 3 years must be at a supervisory level., Computer Literacy. 

Preferred Experience 

• 6 years relevant experience of which 4 years must be at a supervisory level.
