The Muslim Hands South African Office based in Rylands Estate is seeking an enthusiastic and passionate individual with experience in an Accounting and/or Finance role within the NGO/Charity sector.

As the accounts assistant, you will be responsible for:

• To process donations according to their intended methods, Cash, Online, and electronic donations, deal with donor financial queries and requests (receipts & Certificates), and remediate inaccurate donations.
• To liaise and make payments to service providers on behalf of Muslim Hands.
• To process internal requisitions for funds to be allocated overseas.
• To process the release of funds to overseas offices ensuring this is achieved in a timely fashion.
• Undertake banking activities to ensure objectives are met daily.
• To manage and balance daily funds (inwards).
• To manage and balance outward payments.
• To provide support with maintaining and monitoring of Departmental Budgets on MHSA Systems.
• Management of all Invoices Raised, Ledgers, Expenses, etc. on MHSA systems and SAGE Cloud
• Reconciliation of all Accounts on Sage Cloud.
• To check company bank statements and reconciliations
• To prepare cash flow statements
• Manage & maintain the finance department files.
• To deal with Accounts-related queries, concerns, and comments from external agencies, donors, and organizations efficiently and effectively.
• To support Fundraising activities when required
• Payroll, UIF & PAYE VAT, S18A, and the statutory reporting thereof.
• Prepare and Management Monthly Management Accounts
• To undertake any reasonable responsibilities as required by the line manager.
• Degree in Accounting
• Minimum 3 years work experience in a Finance Department
• Management Accounts
• Debtors & Creditor Management
• Track record of understanding and work experience of the accounting process following GAAP practices.
• Outstanding organization skills and problem-solving skills/attention to detail
• Works well under pressure and tight deadlines, and functions effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent written and spoken English.
