Job Description

Old Mutual Insure is Looking for a Actuarial Specialist This role is responsible for carrying out technical actuarial work, often using complex systems and packages and for signing off work of more junior actuarial specialists. The incumbent has responsibility for specific deliveries and is individually accountable for achieving results through own efforts.

You Would :

• Carries out technical actuarial work, often using complex systems and packages.

• Responsible for specific deliveries.

• Performs checks, and puts procedures in place, to ensure actuarial calculations are accurate.

• Checks, manipulates and analyses volumes of data and draws conclusions from the analyses.

• Responsible for technical accuracy and implementation of work.

• Translates actuarial concepts into client - friendly terminology.

Experience, Skills and Knowledge

• Nearly Qualified

• 5-8 years' experience in performing short term reserving and capital calculations.

• 2-3 years' experience in Solvency Assessment Management (SAM).

• IFRS17 and Pricing knowledge advantageous.

The Recruitment process:

• TA Interview: This will be a discussion with a member of the TA Team to give you an understanding of our business, our culture & values and more context on the role. It will also allow up the opportunity to get to know you a little better, and ensure OMI can meet your needs

• Panel Interview: This will be with 2 members of the senior leadership of the data team and 1 member of the HC leadership team

• Technical & Psychometric Assessments: These will depend on the role and will sometimes happen concurrently with MIE & Internal Verification
