Job Description - Architectural / Interior Design Sales Representative

Join our client, a leading name in luxury design and spaces, as a Sales Representative focused on expanding their footprint in the high-end private and commercial markets across South Africa and beyond. This is a permanent, full-time role with most of your time spent on the road. You will be required to check in at the office each morning at 08:30 to collect the company car for client visits, and again in the afternoon at 17:30 from Monday to Thursday. On Fridays, office hours are from 08:30 to 17:00.

This mid-to senior-level role is tailored for a strategic, well-connected professional with a proven track record and an established network within the luxury interior design industry. The ideal candidate will be a forward-thinking strategist with a genuine passion for design and architecture, entrusted with driving new business opportunities, nurturing lasting relationships with key stakeholders, and elevating the company’s presence in this exclusive sector. This pivotal role will play a central part in the continued success and ambitious growth plans of the brand, delivering innovative solutions that resonate with discerning clients and partners alike.


Key Responsibilities:

Business Development & Strategy:

  • Identify and secure new business opportunities within luxury private residential and commercial sectors (hospitality, corporate).
  • Develop and implement business development strategies to achieve sales targets and growth objectives.
  • Conduct market research to spot emerging trends, competitor activity, and new market potential.
  • Create innovative client acquisition and market penetration plans.

Networking & Relationship Management:

  • Leverage an existing network of architects, interior designers, property developers, and high-net-worth individuals to generate leads and secure projects.
  • Initiate and manage outreach efforts to potential clients and partners.
  • Represent the brand at industry events, trade shows, and networking functions to elevate visibility.

Sales & Client Management:

  • Manage the full sales cycle from lead generation to project commissioning.
  • Collaborate with design and project teams to ensure a seamless client experience and successful project delivery.
  • Prepare and present tailored proposals to clients.
  • Maintain a strong sales pipeline and report regularly on business development progress.



Requirements



  • Minimum 5-7 years' in business development within the luxury homes or goods sector.
  • Degree in either Interior Design or Architectural Technology or similar (non-negotiable).
  • Strong, active network in South Africa’s luxury interior design industry, including architects, designers, and property developers.
  • Proven ability to meet/exceed sales targets and drive business growth.
  • Experience selling bespoke, high-end products or services.
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Strategic, analytical thinker with a results-driven mindset.
  • Strong business acumen and deep understanding of luxury consumers.
  • Able to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Passion for luxury design, architecture, and craftsmanship.
  • Proficient with CRM software and Microsoft Office.
