Area Manager (Retail) - Western Cape

We are looking
for a retail leader with a track record of driving sales and developing teams.
The role is suited to someone with clothing-sector experience who thrives in a
fast-paced environment and can make a measurable impact on store performance.

The successful
candidate will lead a group of stores, with a focus on sales, profitability,
people development and operational standards.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities

• Lead, coach and develop store managers to achieve
  sales, profitability and operational targets.
  
• Conduct store visits, assess performance and
  implement improvements.
  
• Recruit, hire and train new store managers.
  
• Analyse sales data, control costs and optimise
  inventory.
  
• Drive visual merchandising, stock accuracy and
  shrinkage control.
  
• Monitor KPIs and implement corrective action where
  targets are missed.
  
• Foster a culture of excellence, discipline and
  teamwork across the stores.
  
• Ensure compliance with company policies,
  customer-service standards and health and safety requirements.
  
• Build strong relationships with store teams and
  support functions.
  
• Represent the business professionally in all store
  and regional interactions.
  

Key Requirements

• 5–10 years of retail experience. Clothing-sector
  experience is an advantage.
  
• Grade 12 qualification. A tertiary qualification is
  advantageous.
  
• Proven people-management and store-leadership
  experience.
  
• A sales-driven mindset with experience managing
  profitability and stock.
  
• Strong communication, analytical and
  problem-solving skills.
  
• High level of self-motivation, determination and
  integrity.
  
• Own reliable car and willingness to travel across
  the required area.
  

Advantageous

• Experience managing multiple stores or a region.
  
• Exposure to recruitment, training and performance
  management.
  
• Experience with stock control, merchandising and
  loss prevention.
