Kendrick Recruitment is currently seeking an experienced and motivated Assistant General Manager for a well-established health and fitness club based in Durban. This is an excellent opportunity for a dynamic hospitality, leisure or fitness professional with strong leadership skills and a passion for delivering exceptional member experiences while supporting the overall management of the club.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist the General Manager with the day-to-day operation of the club
  


• Ensure exceptional levels of customer service and member satisfaction
  


• Support and motivate departmental managers and team members
  


• Oversee daily operational standards across all departments
  


• Assist with staff training, performance management and team development
  


• Monitor health and safety compliance throughout the facility
  


• Support the achievement of financial targets and operational budgets
  


• Handle member queries and resolve complaints professionally and efficiently
  


• Ensure the club maintains the highest standards of presentation and cleanliness
  


• Assist with implementing operational procedures and continuous improvement initiatives
  

Requirements

• Previous management experience within hospitality, leisure, fitness or a related industry
  


• Strong leadership and people management skills
  


• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
  


• Financial and commercial awareness
  


• Strong organisational and problem-solving skills
  


• Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  


• High level of professionalism and customer service focus
  


• Computer literacy and experience with operational reporting systems will be advantageous
