Assistant Restaurant Manager – Benguela Cove Lagoon Wine Estate, Walker Bay, Hermanus

We are a luxury wine estate overlooking the lagoon, offering top-notch dining and events. We're looking for a hands-on Assistant Restaurant Manager to help run our restaurant smoothly, support events and conferences, and keep things running like clockwork. Duties

• Assist the Restaurant Manager with daily restaurant operations, events, and conferences.


• Supervise front-of-house staff including bar staff, waiters, runners, and cleaners.


• Handle complaints, schedule changes, kitchen issues, and stock problems calmly.


• Oversee food and beverage operations across the estate as a proactive team player.


• Manage multiple tasks during peak times, delegate effectively, and keep things efficient.


• Train new staff and provide ongoing training to meet and exceed company standards.


• Deliver excellent customer service, interact with guests professionally, and resolve issues politely.


• Coordinate with the team to hit sales targets, boost customer satisfaction, and follow procedures.

Requirements

• Previous experience in an assistant managerial role (we'd consider sommeliers too).


• Strong leadership, motivation, and people skills.


• Hands-on, hardworking attitude with the ability to multitask and stay level-headed.


• Passion for hospitality, well-presented, and service-oriented.
