JOB PURPOSE
To be a key driver in building the BDO People business. Responsibilities range from business development, thought leadership, solution creation, operational management, managing teams, and the advancement of expert teams.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES As a director/senior manager, you will be a keystone person driving business transformation projects. In this role, you should be able to deliver quality client service, provide insightful solutions and balance multiple priorities. You will also be expected to have excellent communication skills, integrate into, and lead teams, and rapidly establish relationships. More specifically, the successful candidate should:

  • Demonstrate technical competence in Organisational Design (OD); and/or Organisational Learning; and/or Employee Experience & Change Management; and/or Culture/Leadership; and/or HR Technology and take a practical/business-driven approach to solve complex client challenges.
  • Contribute to generating profitable revenue through identifying follow-on engagement opportunities and developing lasting relationships with clients.
  • Conduct wide-ranging business development and solution building.
  • Lead project workstreams from planning through to implementation.
  • Managing project resources and budgets effectively.
  • Be able to influence and persuade clients and stakeholders to gain support for major change initiatives and/or decisions.
  • Encourage and facilitate collaboration amongst team members and promote an inclusive working environment.
  • Identify and effectively manage and mitigate risks and issues.
  • Contribute to business development and client pursuit activities by preparing proposals and delivering presentations for potential clients.
  • Provide coaching and development opportunities for junior people and peers, and act as a visible role model for our people.
  • Review and analyse client requirements or problems and assist in developing proposals of cost-effective solutions that ensure profitability and high client satisfaction.
  • Manages project work streams with the support of senior team members, assisting with overall project/client management and day-to-day project oversight and client communications.
  • Participates or leads teams in designing, developing, and delivering consulting projects or components of larger, complex projects.
  • Designs, structures, and delivers client reports and presentations.
  • Identify new business opportunities for follow-on work and new leads at an assigned client.
  • Proactively develops broader and deeper knowledge of related consulting methodologies and the HR field.
  • Develop centre of excellence specific subject matter expertise.

  • Job Requirements

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS :

  • Relevant post-graduate qualification. Preferably a master’s degree and registration with the HPCSA/SABPP. 
  • EXPERIENCE

  • Substantive HR consulting experience (at least 15 years) with a management consultancy firm.
  • Working with C-suites and senior management.
  • Very strong business development experience in consulting.
  • Growing and moulding a professional services practice.
  • Operational management of a consulting business.
  • Leadership experience in a similar role.
  • Ability to manage consulting projects and teams.
  • Good track record that shows knowledge, skills, and expertise in this industry sector.
  • Experience in leading large-scale transformation projects and managing large teams.
  • Global experience in people consulting.
