Job Description - Au Pair & Home Support for family in Paarl

An
opportunity is available for a dependable, proactive, neuro -affirming au pair
to collaborate with Mom in managing the daily routines of three siblings (one
in Grade 5, and twins in Grade 2). The home environment is dynamic and fast‑paced
and the family would benefit from significant executive functioning support, emotional
connection and inclusion. Mom’s neurodivergent perspective enriches her highly
intentional parenting approach and the ideal candidate will be easy‑going,
adaptable, and collaborative—able to step in with initiative while honoring the
family’s rhythms and values.

This
role calls for someone confident in supporting homework, guiding routines, and
calmly navigating moments of dysregulation. The Au Pair will play a vital role
in lightening the family’s daily load, fostering independence in the children,
and ensuring smooth transitions across school, extramurals, and home life.

Purpose of the Role:

To provide consistent executive functioning support, facilitating
of homework, and practical life‑skills guidance for the family, while
collaborating closely with Mom to maintain structure and reduce stress in a
dynamic household.

Job Objectives:

·        Coordinate
and perform daily school pick‑ups and drop‑offs for extramurals.

·        Support
the children in developing focus during homework sessions through gentle
guidance, patience, and consistent structure.

·        Provide
support with additional tutoring needs where required.

·        Prepare
and serve snacks and dinners; proactively manage grocery lists and ensure meals

·        Assist
with evening routines, including preparing school bags, lunch boxes, and
uniforms for the next day.

·        Track
and manage school activities, sports matches, and appointments using shared
calendars and resources.

·        Provide
executive functioning support: sourcing costumes/stationery, managing clothing
inventories, and ensuring items return from playdates.

·        Encourage
participation in extramurals, even when children are reluctant.

·        Drive
children to medical appointments and other scheduled commitments.

·        Offer
occasional weekend babysitting and support during family travel (packing,
logistics).

·        Maintain
a calm, low‑arousal presence—knowing when to engage and when to step back.

·        Collaborate
with Mom in keeping the environment neat and tidy, without taking over
household responsibilities.
