Automation Engineering Manager

Job Description:

This role involves leading the strategy, design, and execution of automation and engineering projects across multiple production facilities. You will be responsible for maintaining and upgrading existing manufacturing systems, developing future automated solutions, and providing expert support to engineering and software teams. The position also includes oversight of outsourced automation projects and support for new product development from an automation perspective.

Responsibilities:

• Identify and implement improvements in manufacturing and testing systems

• Lead engineering projects to meet future capacity needs

• Research and introduce new technologies to enhance quality and reduce costs

• Support and guide outsourced automation initiatives

• Collaborate closely with product development teams to influence manufacturing strategies

• Standardize automation project documentation and processes

• Provide support for legacy systems and equipment

• Share technical knowledge and develop team capabilities

• Facilitate cross-functional collaboration across the supply chain

Qualifications:

• BEng in Mechatronics Engineering or equivalent

• Minimum of 7 years experience in automation engineering

• Background in electronic, mechanical, and mechatronic system design
• Experience in the mining industry and electronic initiation hightly advantageous

• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and time management skills

• Proven ability to lead, delegate, and manage technical projects
