Job Description - Baker

De Baba Eatery is a busy bakery in Melville. We bake sourdough bread and fresh croissants every day. I am looking for someone who has a solid background in bread and pastry. Your main responsibilities will be:
- overseeing a team of 2 to 3 people and training them in bread baking and laminating pastry
- quality control
- ordering ingredients
- stock control
- producing a minimum of 1200 fresh pastries a week
- designing new pastries

Requirements

- you will be able to work early mornings and at night

- you will be proficient at laminating pastry and baking sourdough bread

- be physically strong and be able to stand on your feet for long periods at a time

- you will have mastered basics like brownies and cookies

- have experience with a proofer, dough sheeter, ovens and mixers
