Banqueting Coordinator | Luxury Hotel & Spa | Cape Town

Kendrick Recruitment is currently seeking an organised, detail-oriented and guest-focused Banqueting Coordinator for a luxury hotel and spa based in Cape Town.

This is an exciting opportunity for a hospitality professional with experience in food and beverage operations, events coordination and reservations administration. The successful candidate will play a key role in coordinating conferences, private functions and special events while ensuring exceptional guest service and seamless communication between departments.

• Salary: R20,000 – R23,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities




• Coordinate and manage conference, event and private function bookings



• Handle special occasion enquiries and bookings, including seasonal and promotional events



• Liaise with guests, suppliers and internal departments to ensure seamless event execution



• Prepare function sheets, floor plans, menus and event-related stationery



• Support food and beverage reservations and revenue-generating initiatives



• Coordinate guest special requests related to food and beverage experiences



• Capture and maintain accurate guest profiles, preferences and feedback



• Conduct site inspections with agents and prospective clients



• Assist with restaurant reservations when required



• Monitor business on the books and compile weekly revenue and events reports



• Ensure all menus and beverage lists are accurately priced and updated



• Verify that event information across marketing platforms remains current and accurate



• Maintain professional communication standards with all guests, colleagues and suppliers

Requirements




• Grade 12 qualification



• Minimum 2 years' food and beverage and event coordination experience within a high-end hospitality environment



• Strong computer skills with working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel



• Experience using hospitality systems such as Opera and Micros



• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English



• Highly presentable with a professional demeanour



• Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and public holidays



• Hospitality Diploma advantageous



• Previous restaurant hosting or floor management experience advantageous
