Barman

As a Barman in our upcoming signature restaurant at Mount Nelson, you are part of a team that shapes the culinary experience of our guests. In this role, you will contribute to the overall efficiency and success of the Food & Beverage team. Our new signature restaurant, offers an immersive marine dining experience, transporting guests into the mysterious beauty and biodiversity of the surrounding Two Oceans.

Open 5 days a week, with set off days being Sunday and Monday, launching in Quarter 4 2025.

Primary Responsibilities Include:

• Preparing and serving a wide range of beverages, exhibiting a strong knowledge of different cocktails, beverages, and foods.
• Providing excellent customer service by engaging with guests, answering questions, and making them feel welcome and comfortable.
• Making recommendations to guests by demonstrating a thorough knowledge of the beverage menu, inlaying ingredients, flavours, and presentation of each drink
• Mixing and garnishing drinks to meet guest preferences and hotel standards
• Promoting featured drinks, specials, or promotions to guests
• Enforcing all legal regulations related to serving alcoholic beverages, such as checking identification for age verifications and refusing service to intoxicated individuals

What You Bring:

• Possesses a responsible alcohol service certification or license depending on the jurisdiction and local regulations.
• Strong knowledge of mixology, cocktail recipes, and different types of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages.
• Ability to engage with guests, understand their preferences, make recommendations, and provide a positive experience.
• Attention to detail to ensure accurate measurements, proper presentation, and adherence to recipes.
