Bid Specialist

About the role:
The Bid/Proposal Specialist plays a pivotal role in driving business growth by leading the creation of compelling and winning proposals. This position acts as the central hub for all bid-related activities, collaborating across sales, technical, and delivery teams to craft persuasive and comprehensive responses to Requests for Proposals (RFPs), Requests for Information (RFIs), and other client-facing documents. The ideal candidate is a highly organized, detail-oriented, and articulate professional with a passion for transforming complex IT solutions into clear, strategic, and convincing narratives.

What you’ll do

• Manage the entire bid lifecycle, from initial request analysis to final submission.
• Lead cross-functional teams, including sales, technical experts, and solution architects, to gather information and develop a unified response strategy.
• Write, edit, and format all proposal content, ensuring it is clear, persuasive, and directly addresses the client's needs and requirements.
• Translate complex technical information and service offerings into accessible language for both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Ensure full compliance with all client requirements, including deadlines, formatting, and submission protocols.
• Maintain and update a centralized content library of reusable proposal materials, case studies, and corporate boilerplate content.
• Conduct post-submission analysis to identify key wins and areas for improvement for future bids.
• Manage communication and follow-up with all internal stakeholders to ensure alignment and timely contributions.

What You Bring

• Experience: Proven experience (4 years) in a bid, proposal, or technical writing role, preferably within the IT consulting or technology sector.
• Written Communication: Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills with a keen eye for detail and grammar.
• Project Management: Strong project management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple complex projects under tight deadlines.
• Technical Acumen: Sufficient technical understanding to grasp concepts related to software development, cloud computing, cybersecurity, or managed services.
• Collaboration: Demonstrated ability to work effectively with diverse teams and senior leadership to achieve common goals.
• Tool Proficiency: Experience with proposal management software, content management systems, and standard business tools (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite, Google Workspace).

Nice-to-Have

• Formal certification in proposal management (e.g., APMP).
• Experience in a B2B sales or pre-sales environment.
• Knowledge of specific IT frameworks or methodologies (e.g., Agile, DevOps).
