SASSO Consulting is recruiting experienced Blockmen for multiple retail butchery positions across the Western Cape.

We are looking for skilled, reliable, and production-driven individuals with solid retail butchery experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Break down whole carcasses into primal and retail cuts

• Portion and prepare meat according to company specifications

• Ensure high standards of quality, hygiene, and food safety

• Minimise waste and control shrinkage

• Maintain clean and organised cutting areas

• Assist with stock rotation and storage

• Support butchery production targets and daily output

• Work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced retail environment

Minimum Requirements (Non-Negotiable)

• Proven experience as a Blockman in a retail butchery environment

• Strong knowledge of meat cuts and carcass breakdown

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Physically fit and able to handle heavy carcasses

• Knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards

• Reliable transport

• Clear criminal record

Advantageous

• Experience in a high-volume retail supermarket butchery

• Experience working with production targets

• Supervisory exposure
