Job Description - Bookkeeper

Description

MSA Outsourcing Solutions is seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Bookkeeper to support one of our UK-based clients. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing financial records, ensuring accuracy in day-to-day transactions, and supporting the finance department in maintaining smooth accounting operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Record and maintain all financial transactions accurately and timely.
  • Reconcile bank statements and manage accounts payable and receivable.
  • Prepare VAT returns and ensure compliance with UK tax regulations.
  • Assist with payroll processing and maintain employee financial records.
  • Support month-end and year-end financial closing procedures.
  • Manage and maintain ledgers and financial reports.
  • Collaborate with external auditors and prepare necessary documentation.
  • Respond to client and vendor financial queries promptly and professionally.
  • Ensure confidentiality and security of financial information.


Requirements
  • Proven experience as a Bookkeeper or in a similar financial role.
  • Proficiency in accounting software such as Xero or QuickBooks Online.
  • Strong knowledge of UK accounting standards, VAT regulations, and payroll processing.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Competent with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Relevant accounting qualification such as a Bachelor's Degree or higher.
  • Professional certification (e.g., ACCA, AAT) is a plus.
  • Experience with payroll processing and tax compliance is advantageous.
  • Ability to manage multiple clients and deadlines effectively.
