Key Responsibilities
Take ownership of the full bookkeeping function across multiple entities, ensuring accurate financial records up to trial balance.
Process day -to -day financial transactions, including journals, cashbooks, supplier invoices, customer accounts, and general ledger maintenance.
Perform regular reconciliations of bank accounts, debtors, creditors, and balance sheet accounts.
Manage accounts receivable and accounts payable processes, ensuring timely collections and supplier payments.
Prepare and submit VAT returns and other statutory submissions through SARS eFiling.
Administer the monthly payroll process, including employee payslips and payroll -related compliance.
Handle payroll taxes and statutory obligations, including PAYE, UIF, SDL, and related submissions.
Assist with month -end procedures and prepare management accounts for review by the finance team.
Support the ongoing improvement of financial processes, controls, and reporting within a growing business environment.
Requirements
Requirements
Proven experience in a full -function bookkeeping role, with responsibility through to trial balance.
Solid working knowledge of SARS eFiling, including VAT and payroll -related submissions.
Experience processing payroll using Sage/Pastel Payroll or a similar payroll platform.
Strong reconciliation skills and a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
Comfortable managing a high -volume debtor environment and maintaining accurate customer accounts.
Well -organized, dependable, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
Strong communication skills and a proactive, solutions -focused approach.
Advantageous
Relevant bookkeeping or accounting qualification, or studies towards a finance -related degree.
Previous experience within a retail, wholesale, or credit -driven business environment.
Ability to communicate in both English and Afrikaans.
