Role Overview

We are seeking a skilled and reliable Breakdown Technician to join a dynamic technical team supporting operations within a mining environment. This role is responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of specialised electronic systems and equipment on-site. The successful candidate will play a critical role in ensuring system uptime, operational efficiency, and adherence to strict safety standards.

This position requires a hands-on individual with strong technical expertise, the ability to work independently under pressure, and a proactive approach to problem-solving in challenging field conditions.

Minimum Requirements

• Qualified Artisan (Red Seal) Electrician or Automotive Electrician
• Minimum of 2 years' experience in a technical, field service, or maintenance role
• Valid driver's license and own reliable transport
• Willingness to travel to various sites and work overtime when required
• Medically fit to work in mining environments (both underground and surface)

Key Responsibilities

• Perform installation, servicing, and maintenance of equipment according to company standards and client requirements
• Diagnose and troubleshoot faults efficiently, ensuring minimal downtime
• Conduct breakdown repairs and preventative maintenance on-site
• Complete all required documentation, including service reports, job cards, and compliance certificates (COCs), accurately and timeously
• Ensure all work is carried out in line with health and safety regulations and company procedures
• Escalate complex technical issues where necessary and provide feedback to relevant stakeholders
• Maintain high standards of workmanship and professionalism when interacting with clients
