Job Description - Business Development Consultant

Are you an outgoing, driven, and high-energy marketing and sales professional? Looking to make a significant impact in the mining and resources consulting sector? A dynamic mining consulting company, with an associated NGO, is seeking a Marketing and Business Development Consultant to join their team in Somerset West. This is a full-day, in-office role perfect for a self-starter eager to learn and grow with the organisation long-term. This position will also require travelling out of South Africa.

Responsibilities:
  • Driving B2B marketing and sales efforts, primarily focusing on the resources sector.
  • Generating and qualifying leads through extensive data mining and proactive outreach to potential clients.
  • Managing and capturing data meticulously to maintain an accurate and effective lead pipeline.
  • Attending conferences and industry shows to network, represent the company, and identify new opportunities.
  • Collaborating closely with the team to understand client needs and contribute to strategic growth.


Requirements

  • A Diploma or Degree in Marketing and/or Sales.
  • 2 - 3+ years of experience in marketing, business development, or a related sales role.
  • Demonstrated ability in data mining, lead generation, and B2B client engagement.
  • An outgoing, well-spoken, and confident communicator, preferably English - speaking.
  • A self-starter with a strong work ethic and a desire to commit to a long-term role where they will be actively coached and developed.
