Job Description - Business Development Manager

There is an immediate vacancy for a Business Development Manager, who will be reporting to the Capital Sales & Marketing Manager .

Position Overview

The Business Development Manager will focus on capital sales within pre-defined geographical business areas, including export markets.

The incumbent must possess strong technical, sales and marketing skills and must be knowledgeable in the underground mechanized mining equipment.

The position requires an individual with good business acumen who is able to work independently.

Sound communication and presentation skills are important, as are developing and maintaining healthy professional relationships with the various stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • All capital sales & marketing activities in respective geographic areas.
  • Developing client specific sales strategies to support the sales vision as prescribed by the Head of Department
  • Perform continuous competitor technical product analysis as well as pricing analysis.
  • Client retention and business expansion, for both existing and potential clients.
  • Client support.
  • Extensive travel.
  • Accurate and detailed forecasting.
  • Competency in accurate engineering costing compilation.
  • Assisting in the compilation of quotations and tenders.
  • Continuous engagement with manufacturing, aftermarket and engineering departments.

Requirements

  • 5 Years or more proven working experience as a Business Development Manager or Sales Engineer.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills
  • Ability to plan, multi-task and manage time effectively
  • BEng Mechanical Engineering or related field degree

Additional

  • Detailed and accurate sales forecasting and budgets
  • Accurate and timeous submission of reports
  • Ability to compile engineering costings
  • Ability to assist in the compilation of quotes and tenders
  • Maintain relationships relevant and current, frequency of interaction with role-players is key.
  • Continuous engagement with manufacturing, aftermarket and engineering departments.
