Hello, future Business Intelligence Analyst III

Role purpose:

To implement the Business Intelligence strategy and translate tactical strategy in actionable goals; to understand the business environment and requirements in order to analyse data and provide relevant analytical and quantitative insights to business for operational, tactical and strategic decisioning.

Key responsibilities:

• Design, build, and maintain scalable Power BI dashboards and reports
• Develop intuitive, user-friendly data models that support self-service analytics
• Create reusable datasets and semantic models to ensure consistency across reports
• Implement best practices in report performance, usability, and visual design
• Extract, clean, and transform data using Power Query, DAX, and SQL
• Develop and maintain data models, relationships, and calculated measures
• Document datasets, measures, and business definitions for user understanding
• Provide guidance and training to business users on using Power BI tools
• Promote adoption of BI tools and a data-driven culture
• Implement the Business Intelligence strategy aligned to Group strategy and ensure execution of strategy and plans.
• Translate tactical business strategies into actionable goals and execute on relevant business intelligence (BI) projects / BI initiatives aligned to strategic objectives with specific performance measures and control systems to track progress.
• Integrate data assets (i.e. outcomes from data science and, data and analytics teams) to business.
• Ensure ongoing efficiencies driven by a culture of sharing "build once and build for all" as well as leveraging tools built by other D&A teams via consumption or enhancements prior to new builds on D&A outcomes.
• Resolve queries as and when required (medium to complex data extracts).
• Liaise with Business Analyst and relevant stakeholders to produce BI business requirement (BRS) documentation and submit to relevant stakeholders for sign off.
• Analyse derived information to create value added knowledge of the bank's products, channels, service levels, trends, or customers for business and operational informed decisions.
• Liaise with relevant stakeholders to provide input into assigned projects, in line with business requirements within the required timeframe and specification.
• Involvement in new projects, design, define and document the Business Intelligence solutions in line with business requirements and service ad-hoc requests for information from clients within the required timeframe and specification.
• Ensure involvement in the solution life cycle, which includes, designing, testing, implementing and validating the overall solution.
• Evaluate against the delivery of solution according to the business case for the specific solution to ensure that the proposed benefits are realised.
• Source, build and manage partnerships with external experts / providers to assist in delivery on key BI projects.
• Share knowledge and ideas into new or improved data product for the Business Intelligence environment.
• Keep up to date with best practice and innovative solutions and challenge current designs to make a relevant difference in business.

Qualifications and Experience

• Minimum qualification: Bachelors in Computer Science, Informatics or related degree
• Preferred qualification: Bachelor’s degree (Honours Advantageous)
• Experience: 6 – 8 years’ relevant experience within Business Intelligence or similar role
• Demonstrated experience in designing and implementing Business Intelligence (BI) solutions that support business objectives.
• Advanced proficiency in Power BI, with the ability to develop dashboards and reports end-to-end.
• Strong proficiency in SQL, with the capability to write complex queries.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, including the ability to train business users on newly developed BI solutions.
• Proven experience developing Power BI reports and dashboards
• Strong knowledge of DAX and Power Query
• Experience working with relational databases
