  • Verify that physical infrastructure corresponds with existing company records.
  • Create and maintain detailed client-specific Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Produce accurate physical and logical network diagrams.
  • Document server rooms, cabinets, racks, cabling, patch panels, switches, routers, firewalls, wireless access points, servers, UPS systems and related infrastructure.
  • Verify hardware, software, licences, connectivity, configurations and critical dependencies.
  • Identify undocumented devices, services, connections and configurations.
  • Assess infrastructure stability, security, suitability, maintainability and resilience.
  • Identify outdated equipment, poor installations, single points of failure, security weaknesses and operational risks.
  • Review backup, recovery, remote-access and disaster-recovery arrangements.
  • Recommend corrective action, upgrades, redesigns or other improvements.
  • Maintain a detailed project register for all allocated client sites.
  • Provide structured progress reports, findings and recommendations directly to the CEO.
  • Escalate serious security, stability or business-continuity risks immediately.
  • Ensure all documentation is stored in approved company-controlled systems.
  • Complete a formal project handover at the end of the contract.

Minimum Requirements

  • Practical experience with business IT infrastructure, networks and systems.
  • Strong understanding of routers, firewalls, switches, Wi-Fi, VLANs, VPNs and structured cabling.
  • Working knowledge of Windows Server, Active Directory, Microsoft 365, virtualisation, backups and endpoint security.
  • Ability to interpret infrastructure and identify technical or operational risks.
  • Experience creating SOPs, technical reports, network diagrams and infrastructure documentation.
  • Strong written English and professional report-writing ability.
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple client-site assessments.
  • Sound professional judgement and a problem-solving mindset.
  • Valid driver's licence and willingness to travel regularly to client sites.
  • Ability to handle confidential company and client information responsibly.
  • Availability to commence employment immediately.

Advantageous Experience

  • Previous MSP or multi-client IT experience.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft 365, Entra ID, Hyper-V, UniFi, FortiGate, Sophos, 3CX, Acronis or similar platforms.
  • Experience conducting infrastructure, security or compliance assessments.
  • Understanding of POPIA, access control, change management and business-continuity principles.
  • Relevant Microsoft, networking, security or infrastructure qualifications.

Remuneration and Resources

The position offers a gross salary of R15,000 per month.

Reasonable and approved business-related travel and project expenses will be covered in accordance with the companies  policies. Comprehensive travel logs and supporting documentation must be maintained and submitted for approval.

We will provide the equipment and tools reasonably required for the position, including a company laptop, cellphone and applicable tools of the trade.

Contract Conditions

This position is offered for a defined six-month project and does not create an expectation of permanent or continued employment beyond the agreed contract period.

Performance will be measured primarily against the accuracy, quality and completion of the required site assessments, SOPs, diagrams, reports, recommendations and final project handover.
