Clinical Systems Specialist

MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB

The purpose of the role is to ensure the accurate integration and data standardisation of clinical information systems by developing, implementing and maintaining system integration requirements, business rules and testing protocols

This role will be responsible for optimisation and maintenance of the Mediclinic digital backbone, its applications and the integration with underpinning and interrelated technology products

KEY RESPONSIBILITY AREAS

• Identify and prioritise clinical system integrations according to business needs and strategic priorities


• Facilitate the compilation of standardised system integration specifications according to end user, business and industry requirements


• Support the configuration and integration of different digital health systems (incl. EHR)


• Deploy, maintain and support system integrations


• Ensure data privacy, security and consent rules align to group and industry standards


• Ensure data governance structures and processes are established and adhered to


• Standardising clinical terminologies (SNOMED CT, LOINC, ICD-10, ICD-11, ICHI, CPT, NANDA)

REQUIRED EDUCATION

ESSENTIAL EDUCATION

• Relevant Clinical Degree

DESIRED EDUCATION

• Post graduate qualification in informatics, public health, data management, or other quantitative discipline


• Health information management qualification

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

ESSENTIAL MINIMUM EXPERIENCE

• A minimum of 5 years work experience in patient care in a clinical field.


• Solid background working with healthcare data.


• At least 3 years’ experience working with an Electronic Health Record or other clinical information systems

DESIRED EXPERIENCE

• Private health care experience


• Experience in data management and governance


• Management or Project Management experience
