Collections Clerk

We are seeking a Collections Clerk, someone who thrives in a target -driven environment, values accuracy, and is committed to delivering professional and empathetic customer service.

As a Collections Clerk, you will play a critical role in managing arrears and ensuring the recovery of outstanding fees while maintaining excellent relationships with students and clients. You will be responsible for achieving collection targets, negotiating payment arrangements, resolving queries, and ensuring accurate record keeping.

Key Responsibilities

• Achieve set monthly and annual collection targets.
  
• Manage arrears collection and ensure correct allocation of receipts.
  
• Negotiate effectively with debtors and follow up on promises to pay.
  
• Resolve client queries and disputes timeously.
  
• Maintain and update databases accurately.
  
• Provide consistent, professional customer service.
  

What We’re Looking For

• Education: Matric (Grade 12).
  
• Experience:
  
• Minimum 2 years in a finance/collections role.
  
• Minimum 2 years in a call center or debt collection environment.
  
• Experience with Excalibur Collections System (advantageous).
  
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Outlook, Internet Explorer).
  
• Core Competencies: Strong communication, negotiation, and analytical skills. Ability to work under pressure, remain assertive, and achieve results.
