The Opportunity

Compliance Monitoring Analyst Africa

The Compliance Monitoring Analyst Africa will support and perform transactional monitoring of compliance-related activities in multiple affiliates throughout the Africa region. Monitoring activities will be conducted in collaboration with in-country OEC team members in each affiliate. The role will also include responsibility for supporting data analytics projects in the African region and participating in global OEC monitoring and data analytics projects.

Main Responsibilities:

Monitoring:

  • Work with affiliate OEC in each country to create annual monitoring plans based on the pre-monitoring risk assessment – Compliance Activity Ranking (CAR) files.
  • Analyze CAR details across affiliates/divisions/activities to identify trends and potential misalignments in risk assessment criteria applied in different affiliates.
  • Support/execute quarterly monitoring in multiple affiliates, including identification of transactions available for monitoring; selection of samples according to appropriate criteria; communication with affiliate Finance and business teams to obtain supporting documentation for selected samples; analysis of documents and completion of monitoring tests and templates; and recommendation of monitoring findings and incidents of non-compliance and proposed remediation.
  • Support/execute Third Party Monitoring program.
  • Working with affiliate OEC, prepare reports and presentations based on monitoring results for Affiliate Compliance Committees and other business presentations.
  • Report monitoring results to global OEC monitoring team, including entry of Incidents of Non-Compliance into global OEC tracking system.
  • Centralize design and delivery of compliance training based on identified risks; ensure policies effectively communicated and understood across affiliates.
  • Other tasks related as assigned.

HCP Spend, Expense Report, and Pre-Approval systems Analytics:

  • Support affiliate OEC in use of Power BI databases to identify transactions and trends of interest for monitoring or other follow-up/investigation.
  • Import data from regional OEC event approval systems (e.g., GPAS) and Power BI and perform analytics.
  • Monitor events and HCP/HCI records for anomalies and perform system maintenance and cleanup as needed.
  • Other tasks related as assigned.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Relevant experience in compliance, audit, data analytics and/or business intelligence area strongly preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree in economics, finance, business, or equivalent is preferred
  • Minimum 3 years’ relevant work experience.
  • Familiarity and/or work experience with medical devices and/or pharmaceutical compliance rules and practices strongly preferred.
  • Strong English language skills, including the ability to write clearly in English and communicate effectively in a multi-national working environment
  • Strong Microsoft Excel and Power BI skills, including working with large data sets; loading, manipulating, analyzing data; designing visualizations and dashboards.
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities.
  • Collaborative mindset, team player.
  • Comfortable interacting with people from all around the region and the US and working with documents in multiple languages using commonly available translation tools.
