Directing daily operations on active residential building sites, this role focuses on driving project execution, maintaining rigorous quality standards, and coordinating subcontractor workflows. The position ensures that field production strictly adheres to defined schedules, budgetary parameters, and organizational benchmarks.
Creating a safe, structured, and accountable working environment serves as the baseline for this position. Primary outcomes centre on enforcing quality workmanship, eliminating defects early, and establishing daily site efficiency across all active trade streams. The position is based in Paarl/Stellenbosch area.
Key Responsibilities
Site Operations: Plan and coordinate daily construction activities, direct site labour, and supervise subcontractors to maintain uninterrupted productivity and workflow.
Technical Compliance: Inspect active work to ensure full compliance with approved drawings, technical specifications, and company quality standards.
Programme Delivery: Execute production against the master construction programme, sequence subcontractor trades to prevent delays, identify schedule risks early, and implement recovery measures when required.
Resource Management: Coordinate the timely availability of materials, site labour, and equipment, while verifying order quantities upon delivery to minimise waste.
Quality Assurance: Conduct ongoing quality inspections, sign off booking sheets only when standards are met, resolve pre-snag items, and prepare units for internal and client handovers.
Health & Safety Enforcer: Conduct daily site safety inspections, enforce compliance with company Health & Safety protocols, mandate required PPE usage, and immediately report hazards or incidents.
Site Administration & Control: Maintain accurate operational records, verify completed subcontractor work for payment clearance, and assist with site measurements in line with internal control processes.
Plant & Equipment Oversight: Ensure proper care, operation, and security of all on-site plant, tools, and machinery, reporting damaged or missing items promptly.
Stakeholder Coordination: Maintain professional, proactive relationships with subcontractors, suppliers, consultants, and clients to support a positive customer journey.
Essential Requirements
3 to 5 years of residential construction experience.
Valid driver's licence and reliable personal transport.
Strong construction knowledge with the ability to read and interpret technical construction drawings.
Proven track record in trade coordination, planning, and quality control.
Desirable Requirements
Formal trade qualification or building sciences / construction-related qualification.
