Consultant - CSC

Delivery of Security Risk Consulting (SRC) projects. As a Johannesburg based Consultant you will be in a client focused delivery role, supporting clients and other team members to deliver security consulting services. You may be additionally required to support broader crisis and security consulting tasks, including protective services across Southern Africa as required.

This role combines project and personnel management, business development, and direct client delivery. It requires commercial and technical knowledge, along with direct relevant experience of delivering across Crisis, Security and Risk disciplines.

Tasks and Responsibilities.

Client delivery

• Conduct fee earning tasks including but not limited to, security vulnerability assessments, risk assessments, reviews, and audits of client sites across various locations in South Africa, and wider Southern Africa.
• Develop site security plans for client locations which will contain recommendations on mitigating security threats.
• Develop emergency response plans, crisis management plans and business contingency plans for clients
• Deliver trainings including but not limited to crisis management and emergency response trainings, personal security awareness trainings, and hostile environment awareness trainings.
• Service multiple consultancy assignments concurrently working in collaboration with EMEA service line leads to utilise regional resources as necessary.

Project management

• Travel independently to client sites across the region.
• Supporting delivery of financial targets set for Southern Africa and across all CSC practice areas.
• In collaboration with CSC Management ensure accurate and timely forecasting.
• Ensure all projects are being delivered on time and in budget.
• Project and resource planning to maximise utilisation, working closely with EMEA colleagues.

Business development

• Develop and grow meaningful client relationships that directly contribute to individual sales and service line targets related to the CSC Southern Africa and wider CSC EMEA budget.
• Collectively with the CSC SA team, draft client proposals making use of the Pricing Tool to ensure required profit margins.
• Maintain, build and develop a strong network of existing and future client contacts and consistently develop the company’s positioning with them to enhance business development and secure budget achieving engagements.
• Become involved in the dynamic account management environment in conjunction with the management team and global Markets & Partner Team colleagues.

Additional requirements

• Available to travel across the region at short notice if required.
• Support consultancy assignments in scoping, delivery and reporting.
• Ensure that practices, policies, strategy and services are fully aligned with client needs.
• Support maintenance of client relationships; act in conjunction with consultants and key account managers.

Proven ability of operating successfully working as part of team, supporting professional delivery with a focus on quality.

 Proven team player with independent capacity to also work with minimal supervision.

 Experience of operating and delivering projects in Southern Africa, with additional experience of operating in high-risk environments.

 Proven experience of successfully working within teams to reach the strategic and operational goals.

 Commercially astute when planning and pricing project in terms of time, resource, and outcomes, through the utilisation of the Pricing Tool.

 Bachelors (BA) degree or equivalent in-line with security risk management and consulting.

 Exposure to, or delivery of, operational security planning and risk consulting.

 Excellent report, presentation and proposal writing skills in both English and preferably a second language, either French or Portuguese.

 Ability to liaise with and build successful client relationships.

 Ability to quickly assimilate large quantities of new information.

• Master's degree from an accredited institution/CPP (Certified Protection Professional) or any other internationally recognized, and globally accredited security certification.
• At least minimum of five (5) years in executive physical security role or five (5) years proven experience in developing physical security strategy.
• Demonstrates proven expertise and success in managing multiple security functions across multiple security departments.
• Registered with PSIRA (Private Security Regulatory Authority).
