Contracts Engineer

An exciting opportunity is available within a well -established engineering organisation operating in the mining and mineral processing sector. This role is suited to a driven early -career engineer looking to deepen their experience in project execution while working on complex equipment packages within capital projects.

Key Responsibilities

Project Execution

• Manage assigned equipment packages from handover through to completion
  
• Ensure compliance with contract scope and technical specifications
  
• Monitor progress against project schedules and key milestones
  
• Identify and mitigate risks impacting delivery
  

Engineering Coordination

• Review and approve engineering drawings and deliverables
  
• Ensure correct application of design standards and specifications
  
• Interface with internal engineering teams and external consultants
  

Procurement & Expediting

• Support procurement processes, including technical evaluations
  
• Monitor supplier performance and expedite critical equipment
  
• Ensure timely delivery in line with project requirements
  

Commercial & Contractual Control

• Track and manage variations and deviations
  
• Assist in preparing claims and managing change orders
  
• Maintain awareness of budgets and cost performance
  

Quality & Compliance

• Ensure adherence to QA/QC standards and inspection requirements
  
• Participate in FATs and inspections where required
  
• Ensure all project documentation is accurate and complete
  

Client & Stakeholder Engagement

• Liaise with clients, consultants, and contractors
  
• Attend project meetings and provide progress updates
  
• Assist in resolving technical and commercial queries
  

Requirements

• National Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering (or related discipline)
  
• 1–3 years’ experience in project execution within an OEM, EPC, or mining environment
  
• Past experience with mineral processing plants (e.g. flotation, thickening, filtration) is essential
  
• Strong understanding of mechanical equipment and fabrication processes
  
• Knowledge of project lifecycle and contract execution
  
• Familiarity with QA/QC processes and documentation
  
• Strong planning and organisational skills
  
• Commercial awareness with a cost -conscious mindset
  
• Ability to manage multiple packages simultaneously
  
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
  
• Professional and presentable, suited to a client -facing role
