We are seeking a highly skilled Data Center Architect with a strong foundation in electrical or mechanical engineering, complemented by a variety of technical certifications. Work in dynamic teams and enjoy the security of a permanent role with great benefits.
Key Responsibilities:
Design and develop data center infrastructure, including electrical and mechanical systems, ensuring they align with company needs and industry standards.
Integration of various trades including structured cabling (copper and fiber), ICT systems (networking, storage, cloud), CCTV, and access control systems.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the successful implementation of building management systems, fire and security systems, and other related technologies.
Ensure compliance with medium voltage and switching certifications, adhering to industry best practices for safe operation and management of electrical systems.
Contribute to the coordination of architectural, structural, civil, and fire systems designs to ensure a fully integrated and optimized data center.
Conduct regular audits, assessments, and troubleshooting of systems to maintain and improve data center performance and reliability.
Collaborate with OEM vendors for system implementation and support.
Requirements
Requirements:
Educational Background: National Diploma (Ndip) in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, with a trade test and ancillary certifications.
Certifications: Medium Voltage and Switching Certification, Qualified Trade Test Certification.
Expertise in structured cabling (copper and fiber systems).
Proficient in ICT systems, including networking, storage, and cloud technologies.
Experience in CCTV and access control systems.
Knowledge of Building Management Systems (BMS).
Understanding of fire systems and safety protocols.
OEM Skills: Experience with industry-leading OEMs such as Schneider, Eaton, and Vertiv.
Additional Skills (Desirable):
Experience with architectural, structural, civil, and fire systems as they relate to data centers.
A strong working knowledge of both electrical and mechanical engineering principles.
Familiarity with the integration and coordination of various trades within data center operations.
