Data Center Technician

We are looking for a skilled and hands-on Data Center Technician to support server infrastructure, hardware troubleshooting, physical network deployments, and data center buildout activities.

This role requires a technically strong professional with experience in diagnosing server hardware issues, performing root cause analysis, supporting physical network installations, and working in complex data center environments. You will also contribute to technical documentation, knowledge sharing, training, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Tasks

What You'll Do:

• Troubleshoot and diagnose complex server hardware and component failures
• Perform Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and failure analysis using controlled testing
• Support server deployments, maintenance, and field operations
• Investigate hardware, firmware, and system-level issues
• Use Linux and Windows command-line tools for troubleshooting
• Support physical network setup and troubleshooting across Layer 1, Layer 2, and Layer 3
• Install, trace, label, manage, and organize network and server cabling
• Assist with switch setup and connectivity validation
• Maintain port maps and deployment documentation
• Monitor server fleet health and identify trends or recurring issues
• Develop and maintain SOPs, Knowledge Base articles, technical guides, and documentation
• Train and mentor field technicians on new products, tools, and technical processes
• Collaborate with engineering teams and provide detailed feedback on failures and serviceability
• Participate in pre-work planning, daily status updates, and post-project follow-ups

Requirements

What We're Looking For

• 3–5+ years of experience as a Data Center Technician or similar role
• Strong hands-on knowledge of server hardware and component-level troubleshooting.
• Experience with hardware failure analysis and Root Cause Analysis (RCA)
• Knowledge of physical networking and troubleshooting across Layer 1–3
• Experience with cabling, cable management, cable tracing, and port mapping.
• Ability to troubleshoot using Linux and Windows command-line environments.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Experience working independently and within geographically distributed teams.
• Excellent communication and documentation skills.
• Ability to mentor and train other technicians.

Preferred Skills:

• CCNA certification
• Microsoft certifications (MCP / MCSE)
