Debtors Clerk

For the site in Sandton, South Africa we are looking for you as a Debtors Clerk. (m/f/d)

These challenges await you:

• Raise and issue customer invoices accurately and timeously.
• Maintain and reconcile the debtors’ ledger to the general ledger.
• Monitor customer account balances and ensure adherence to agreed credit terms.
• Follow up on overdue accounts via statements, emails, and calls.
• Resolve payment delays and escalate long-outstanding debts where required.
• Liaise with sales to resolve billing issues.
• Prepare age analysis and provide commentary on overdue balances.
• Investigate and resolve invoice queries, pricing discrepancies, and short payments.
• Assist in any other tasks as required from time to time

Skills and Personal Attributes:

• Certificate or Diploma in Accounting (preferable)
• Solid understanding of accounts receivable and basic accounting principles.
• Understanding of VAT implications on sales invoices (advantageous).
• 3-5 years’ experience in a similar role
• High attention to detail and accuracy.
• Strong reconciliation and problem-solving ability.
• Professional and firm communication with customers regarding payments.
• Strong time management skills
• Computer literacy 
• Strong MS Excel skills
• Sage Evolution experience (advantageous)
• Reliable, disciplined, and able to work independently
