Debtors Clerk - Kempton Park

Job Description: We are currently seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Debtors Clerk to join our clients finance team in Kempton Park. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing customer accounts receivable and ensuring timely collection of payments. A Certificate or Diploma will be an advantage, but not a strict requirement for this role.

Responsibilities:

1. Generate and send out invoices to customers accurately and on time.
2. Follow up on outstanding invoices and ensure timely collection of payments.
3. Reconcile customer accounts and resolve any billing discrepancies or issues.
4. Maintain accurate records of customer transactions and payments received.
5. Prepare and analyse aging reports to monitor overdue accounts.
6. Communicate with customers regarding payment inquiries and overdue balances.
7. Collaborate with sales and operations teams to resolve customer disputes or issues.
8. Assist with credit control procedures and credit limit assessments.
9. Prepare and submit statements of accounts to customers as needed.
10. Provide support during month-end and year-end closing procedures.

Requirements:

1. Certificate or Diploma in Accounting, Finance, or related field
2. Proven 3 years of experience as a Debtors Clerk or in a similar role.
3. Strong numerical aptitude and attention to detail.
4. Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage) and MS Excel.
5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
6. Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively.
7. Knowledge of debt collection practices and credit control procedures.
8. Experience in the logistics industry is a plus.
9. Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines.
