WHAT IS ON OFFER

Alfred H Knight has an exciting opportunity for a Driver to join the team in Gqeberha. The position is responsible for attending at a specific warehouse or job site to oversee the daily functions and assist sample preparers in loading completed samples. Record samples on the collection book. Disposed used samples back to the warehouse. Clean and wash vehicles. Transport workers to sites. Follow road act rules and regulations.

DO YOU HAVE WHAT IT TAKES?

To be successful at Alfred H Knight the incumbents will need to display the following:

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND WORK EXPERIENCE

In this role you will be responsible to 

• Ensure safe, legal, and professional operation of company vehicles


• Transportation of employees to sites


• Complete daily pre-use vehicle inspection before driving


• Immediately report defects, damages or unsafe conditions


• Ensure loads are properly secured


• Maintaining an organized travel schedule.


• Ensuring that vehicles have sufficient fuel and are always ready for use


• Keep the vehicle clean, roadworthy, and presentable  


• Attend and sign off on driver inductions and training


• Follow company HSE Procedures at all times


• Stop work if driving conditions or vehicle safety is compromised


• Cooperate fully in incidents investigations


• Submit required documentation and statements timeously


• Maintain professionalism behaviour at all times


• Represent company responsibly when driving

Required Competencies

• Ability to present information both written and verbally


• Strict adherence to health and safety procedures


• Ability to follow instructions accurately and procedures


• Ability to work as part of a team


• Demonstrate a high degree of manual dexterity


• Honest, sober habits, adaptable, punctual and flexible


• Effective interpersonal skills


• Good customer service skills


• Ability to communicate effectively in English (verbal and written)

Required Qualifications

• Valid South African driver’s license


• Valid Professional Driving Permit (PDP)

Required work experience

• Minimum of 5 years Driving experience
