Job title: Electrical Engineer

Location: South Africa (Gauteng, Cape Town, Gqeberha or Middelburg)

TGRC is looking for an Electrical Engineer to join a global certification testing and inspection consulting firm.

In addition, the Electrical Engineer will perform inspections based on local rules and regulations, with a focus on functional system performance and the documentation of quality and safety-related findings in an independent third-party report. Communication and moderation between the stakeholders will be necessary. Based on local rules and regulations, defects and deviations of the construction quality will be documented and summarized in an independent third-party report. The usage of digital tools, such as inspection apps and digital planning evaluation tools, will be part of the daily performance.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & AUTHORITIES:

• Independent activity (independently and in a team) as an engineer

• Commitment to the safety of electrotechnical plants and building equipment, particularly in the areas of testing of fire alarm systems, safety power supply and general electrical installations across all aspects of renewables for utility & C&I projects.

• Quality controlling during construction, preparation of expert opinions and measurements

• Description and assessment of technical problems and development of proposed solutions

• Monitoring and implementation of acceptances

• Objective preparation of expert opinions for the assessment of claims for defects and damage from a technical point of view

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

• B.SC, B. Eng or B. Tech Degree in electrical engineering or similar

• ECSA registered professional.

• Proven experience in specialist planning or execution of demanding projects

• Well-founded and practice-proven professional and sector experience in industrial and residential construction

• Previous experience in evaluation and quality inspection/site report

• A minimum of 5 years experience in electrical engineering ideally consulting
