Electrician - Building Maintenance

The
Qualified Electrician will be responsible for the installation, maintenance,
repair, testing, and inspection of electrical systems across multiple company
properties. The incumbent will ensure compliance with all applicable electrical
regulations and standards and will be responsible for issuing Certificates of
Compliance (COCs) where required.

Electrical Maintenance and Repairs

• Perform
  preventative and corrective maintenance on electrical systems.
  
• Diagnose
  and repair electrical faults in buildings and facilities.
  
• Install,
  maintain, and repair electrical wiring, distribution boards, lighting
  systems, power outlets, generators, UPS systems, and related equipment.
  
• Conduct
  routine inspections and testing of electrical installations.
  
• Ensure
  uninterrupted operation of critical electrical infrastructure.
  
• Respond
  to electrical breakdowns and emergency call -outs.
  

Compliance and Certification

• Ensure
  all electrical work complies with applicable legislation, regulations, and
  standards.
  
• Conduct
  inspections and testing of electrical installations.
  
• Issue
  Electrical Certificates of Compliance (COCs) where required.
  
• Maintain
  accurate maintenance, testing, and compliance records.
  
• Keep
  abreast of changes in electrical legislation and standards.
  

Site Maintenance and Support

• Travel
  regularly between company sites to perform inspections, maintenance, and
  repairs.
  
• Assist
  with general building maintenance activities where required.
  
• Coordinate
  with contractors and service providers as necessary.
  
• Ensure
  company tools, testing equipment, and vehicles are properly maintained.
  

Health and Safety

• Comply
  with Occupational Health and Safety legislation and company safety
  procedures.
  
• Conduct
  risk assessments before commencing work.
  
• Use
  appropriate PPE and safe work practices.
  
• Report
  hazards and unsafe conditions immediately.
  

Requirements

• Qualified
  Electrician with a recognized Trade Certificate (Red Seal or equivalent).
  
• Valid
  Wireman's Licence.
  
• Registered
  and legally compliant to issue Electrical Certificates of Compliance
  (COCs) in South Africa.
  
• Minimum
  3–5 years' post -trade experience in building maintenance, facilities
  management, commercial, industrial, or residential electrical maintenance.
  
• Experience working across multiple sites will be
  advantageous
  
• Valid
  South African Driver's Licence.
  
• Must
  be willing and able to travel regularly between sites.
