Electrician | Facilities Management | Maintenance Team

Job Summary

The Maintenance Electrician will perform complex technical work, on a journeyman level, in the installation, operation, maintenance, modification, service and repair of electrical systems, equipment, fixtures and related electro-mechanical systems, in accordance with applicable Electrical Industry Codes.

Job Responsibilities

• Inspect the premises regularly to identify equipment and machines in need of repair


• Troubleshoot issues to determine necessary repairs


• Plan and conduct routine electrical maintenance using the applicable buildings blueprints or equipment manual as mandated


• Repair faulty wiring where a specialised electrical technician is not required

Additional Duties

• The incumbent will be asked to perform additional maintenance duties on occasion


• Be on standby and work overtime when required

Experience and Skills

• 2–3 years’ electrical experience


• PLC programming experience


• Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings


• Experience with CCTV and access control systems


• Medium- and low-voltage switching experience


• Mechanical experience


• Advanced computer literacy

Qualifications

• N3 in Electrical Engineering


• Electrical Trade Test


• Valid Code 08 driver’s licence


• Wireless licence (advantageous)
