Engineering / Mining - Regional Operations & Sales Manager Permanent

Requirements

• Diploma or degree in Engineering or Business Management
• 4 to 5 years' relevant experience, ideally in a technical or engineering environment
• Sales experience in heavy engineering industry
• Proven leadership, with the ability to manage and communicate at all levels of the organisation
• Results-driven, strategic thinker and planner, with a strong sense of urgency and high integrity
• Working knowledge of the Labour Relations Act and the OHS Act
• Advanced MS Office skills; SAP experience (advantageous)
• Valid driver's licence and willingness to travel within the region

Duties

• Drive the sales plan and budget, and ensure a healthy pipeline of bids and conversions
• Oversee new installation and modernisation projects from sale to handover
• Approve first-level pricing escalations and ensure discounts align with budget and strategy
• Monitor targets, analyse root causes of deviations, and implement corrective action
• Enforce health, safety and quality standards in the branch and on site
• Control branch expenses, purchasing and stock
• Manage labour relations in line with South African labour legislation
• Conduct performance reviews and develop staff, including technicians' technical skills
• Report on project profitability to senior management
