Engineering Storeman

A reputable manufacturing company in Port Elizabeth is seeking to appoint an Engineering Storeman to join its dynamic team. This is an excellent opportunity for a diligent, detail-oriented individual with solid store experience in engineering.

Duties & Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring uninterrupted service to the Technical and Engineering departments by efficiently managing inventory and ensuring supply continuity.

Key responsibilities include:

• Issuing parts to the Engineering and Plant departments.
• Performing cycle counts and resolving inventory discrepancies.
• Ordering selected engineering materials.
• Managing stock control and maintaining high standards of inventory accuracy.
• Implementing and maintaining 5S practices in the storage area.
• General housekeeping of the store's area.

SAP-Specific Responsibilities:

• Posting and managing material movement transactions.
• Conducting inventory control activities (e.g., enquiries, cycle counting).
• Handling high-volume transactions under pressure and tight deadlines.
• Liaising with Engineering and Production teams.

Desired Experience & Qualification

Minimum Requirements:

• Matric / Grade 12.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in a storekeeping or administrative role, preferably in an engineering environment.
• Prior experience working with ERP systems, particularly SAP.
• Strong knowledge of computerized inventory control systems.
