Structural / Civil Engineer (Mining Structures) – Contract

Based at one of the mines in Hotazel town in the Northern Cape

We are urgently seeking experienced Structural / Civil Engineers with strong experience in structural work within the mining environment. The successful candidates will be based at a mine in Hotazel, Northern Cape, and will be responsible for ensuring that structural designs, assessments, and engineering solutions meet safety, quality, and operational standards within the mining operation.

This is a 3-month contract position, with the possibility of an extension depending on project requirements and performance.  Accommodation will be provided

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, review, and assess structural engineering solutions for mining infrastructure.
• Conduct structural inspections and assessments of existing structures within the mining environment.
• Ensure compliance with relevant engineering standards, safety regulations, and mining requirements.
• Prepare technical reports, drawings, and engineering documentation.
• Work closely with project teams, site personnel, and other engineering disciplines.
• Provide technical guidance and support during construction or modification of structures.
• Identify risks and provide solutions to maintain structural integrity and safety on site.

Desire Experience & Qualification

• Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering.
• Minimum 5 years experience in structural engineering within the mining environment.
• Proven experience working with mining-related structures and infrastructure.
• Strong knowledge of structural design principles, safety standards, and engineering best practices.
• Ability to work on-site in a mining environment.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Excellent communication and reporting abilities.
